Is That Covert Commissions Lurking In The Bushes Back There?

Don’t look behind you. There’s an agent sneaking up behind you trying to recruit you for Covert Commissions. Soren Jordansen, John Merrick, and Cindy Battye want you for their program to promote products so you can earn big commissions. Are you ready for your mission?
I’m not an affiliate for Covert Commissions. However this looks like a fairly decent product. There are better, more well-rounded products out there that’ll teach you more about how to make money from affiliate marketing and not just provide you the tool to do it like Covert Commissions.
Shall we dig in?
Covert Commissions was created by three people: Soren Jordansen, John Merrick, and Cindy Battye. This is a “system” or “software” that helps you create landing pages that promote products in the members’ area product library. All the products in the library come from either ClickBank or JVZoo.
With the standard license you can create 5 different landing pages. You’re given a link which you can use to drive traffic to your landing page and hopefully the visitors purchase the product you’re promoting.
Most of the products in the library, called “missions” in the members’ area, also come with a few email swipe files for you to use. These emails are designed to help convince the visitor to purchase the product so you get paid a commission.
The swipe files are crap. They just promote the product without trying to build trust with the reader. Wouldn’t you be more likely to purchase something if someone you trust recommended it?
Now let’s look at exactly what you get for your money.
I was quite surprised to see a clean and modern members’ area:

Looks pretty nice, right? We see a lot of members’ areas that are outdated and ugly. But not Covert Commissions.
On the left side you can see the menu for everything in the members’ area. The “My Missions” section is where you’ll find all the products you’re able to promote:

This is the first one we can promote. I’ll show you what you’re given in a second but first I want to show you the library where you can find more products to promote. The library is found under “New Missions” and this is what you’ll see:

There’s a massive selection of products you can promote. At the bottom of each product you can see a “Purchase” button. With Covert Commissions you’re given 5 credits. You’ll be spending those credits when you click “purchase”. You’re not buying the actual product but the landing page you can use and the email swipe files.
If you wanted more than 5 pages, you can purchase more credits pretty easily:

You’ll be given a new transaction number once you’ve purchased more credits. You’ll need to add that number to your account and the new credits will be added instantly.
Now what does a pack look like once you’ve purchased it with your credits? Here’s one I purchased:

You can see the link to your landing page, or “squeeze” page, and an explanation on how you can add tracking codes to it. You can use tracking codes, so when you use your affiliate links in multiple places you’ll know exactly where people are clicking from to get to the landing page. This way you’ll know which links are more effective and where you’ve put them.
Just underneath that you’ll find links to the email swipe files, tweets, and banner ads to use to get more people to your landing page.
Let’s have a look at one of these landing pages:

It’s not a bad looking landing page. It has a video explaining what the product is and an opt-in form for people to add their email address. You can send the swipe emails that Covert Commissions provides you to these people to increase the chances of making a sale. For all of this to work though you’ll need to add your affiliate link to all these pages you’re creating. Thankfully Covert Commissions makes it simple.
To get your affiliate link automatically added to all current pages and future pages, you just go to your profile. Underneath your name and email address you’ll see these two boxes:

Pop your ClickBank ID and JVZoo ID in the boxes and you’re good to go. All the products in the Covert Commissions library are either from ClickBank or JVZoo so that’s all you’ll need.

Now there are a couple bad points we need to discuss about Covert Commissions…
The only thing I don’t like is the training covering how get traffic to your landing pages. You’re given several traffic courses, but they’re all a little dated:

In these training courses, which they go through in the video I mentioned earlier, you’ll see they mention things like Squidoo. Squidoo is a service which uses article marketing to get posts to rank high in Google. In those articles you can add links to send people to your website.
That’s how article marketing works (in general).
However since 2013, Google no longer ranks these article directories as high as they used to, so all this training is pointless. If you tried using the article marketing training provided you’re not going to see many visitors coming to your landing pages.
All the other sections are still relevant. You’ll get some traffic if you implement these techniques but they could be a little more thorough.
I liked Covert Commissions a lot more than I thought I would. I mean the home page just screamed “scam” to me:

All that sh*t about opening a bank vault and sneaking away with a massive heist blah, blah, blah. C’mon! It’s a marketing tactic to make the product seem cool. I’m happy to be proven wrong.
The reason I’ve given Covert Commissions a C rating is because of the slightly outdated traffic training and the crappy email swipe files they give you for each product. Also, you’re limited strictly to the promotion options Covert Commissions picks for you, and it’s not very helpful for promoting products that you might choose yourself.
I’d recommend writing your own emails if this is something you wish to do. When writing the emails imagine how you’d like to be told about the product you’re promoting and don’t focus on making the sale in the first 1 or 2 emails (which is what the CC swipe emails do). Try to establish rapport with the readers and build trust between the two of you. You’re more likely to make the sale in the later emails in your sequence if you focus on building trust and establishing a relationship first.
Comparing this to our free training courses, it stacks up much better than most of the stuff we review:
Our free courses have a wider range of training to help you with all aspects of building an online business. But for the price of covert commissions, you’ll learn a decent amount about landing pages.
It would be great if you could use Covert Commissions to promote other products and not just the ones in their library, but hey, you can’t be too greedy. Or can you? I’ll leave you to decide on that one.
