Bulletproof SEO Review: Stephen Floyd Really Overdelivers

Prepare yourself for a long review. I assume if you’re considering spending a few hundred dollars on an advanced training product like Bulletproof SEO, you want as much detail as possible. If you actually read this review, it should be abundantly clear by the end of the article whether or not BP SEO is a good fit for you.
If you’ve spent more than five minutes on my site, it’s also abundantly clear that I very rarely review a training product positively. When I started going through Stephen Floyd’s Bulletproof SEO (not an affiliate link), my jaw dropped. I spent hours learning from Stephen’s videos and I’ve been following SEO for 10 years. The training is extremely on-point, easy to follow, and up-to-date for today’s volatile search engine climate, but ONLY IF you’re interested in building the kind of business that Bulletproof SEO teaches.
This review is going to be formatted a little bit differently. After the review summary, I’m going to start with the reasons that a person SHOULDN’T buy Bulletproof SEO. I’ll be 100% honest, up-front, and clear about what I believe to be the product’s weak points.
If you read through those and you’re still interested in the product, then I’ll list all of the things that Stephen Floyd has done correctly, and explain why I feel this product does a really good job setting people up for success.
Without further ado, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of Stephen Floyd’s Bulletproof SEO.
If you’re as impatient I am and don’t want to read this entire review, here’s a brief summary of what it says.
Stephen’s members’ area is ugly – there’s no other way to put it. He’d probably (mostly) agree with that statement. Sometimes the navigation can be confusing, the design is unattractive, and the product is definitely on the pricey side (possibly making you wonder upon first logging in, “I paid for THIS?!”).

But don’t be fooled by the basic appearance of the members’ area – the information is extremely valuable. Out of the 100+ products I’ve reviewed and after being in this industry over 10 years, Bulletproof SEO taught me more than any product I’ve ever reviewed. I spent hours studying, taking notes, and learning tricks-of-the-trade that no other product has covered (not even my top recommendations).
Here’s the long and the short of it: If you have a basic understanding of how to setup a website, you’re willing to work hard, and able to pay the high price as long as Bulletproof SEO delivers on its promises, this is a refreshingly valuable product and you won’t be disappointed.
You can read all of the details in this review, but ultimately if all three of those things are true, you’re going to want to buy Stephen’s product for $497 or two payments of $297 (affiliate links).
If you’re completely new to this and don’t know how to build a website, you might want to check out my Wealthy Affiliate review and come back to BP SEO later. It won’t be a good fit for your level of experience.
If you know how to build a website and understand basic SEO, but Bulletproof SEO’s price is just too high, you might want to check out my Source University review (where Stephen is one of the teachers as well, but it’s not remotely as in-depth or step-by-step).
Stephen Floyd is one of the most thorough teachers I’ve ever seen. His training leaves no stone unturned, and the support he provides his members in the Facebook support group is like nothing I’ve seen.
In the product, there are hours upon hours of video training covering everything SEO from the ground-up. From the most basic on-page requirements to advanced off-page strategies that I’ve never seen anyone teach, Stephen lays it all out in extremely easy-to-follow, thorough training.
But the product doesn’t stop there. You’ll also learn where to look for prospects, how to price and sell new accounts, and be given several contract templates and other useful tools you can use in your business. As long as you’re willing to work hard, everything you could possibly want to become successful is in here.
In addition to that, I provide all of my referrals with extremely high-quality training that I’ve never seen taught elsewhere online. These are strategies I came up with myself that have grown my business tremendously. They were also the main reason for my success when I worked as a Sales Director for a digital marketing company.
All of my personal referrals also receive an extra tier of support from me whenever they need it. Your success is what matters most to me, so if you’re a follower of mine that buys Bulletproof SEO due to my recommendation, I will always be there to help you. I never disappear after the sale just because I’ve earned a commission.
Keeping all of this in mind, let’s talk about who shouldn’t buy Stephen’s product.
Just like any other product I’ve reviewed positively, Bulletproof SEO isn’t for everyone. If any of the points below apply to you, Stephen’s product isn’t going to be the best fit.

1) You Have No Experience Setting Up Websites or Hosting: Stephen’s course picks up at basic, on-page SEO. If you don’t know how to build a website or setup web hosting, the course isn’t going to cover that. You’re better off finding some free tutorials online before jumping into Bulletproof SEO, or checking out the training at Wealthy Affiliate (which I’ve reviewed thoroughly here).

2) You’re Not Interested In Starting a Local SEO Business: If you’re worried about how you’ll get clients, don’t let that stop you from checking out this product. Stephen teaches several tactics, and you won’t have to go cold-calling or knocking door-to-door.
If you’re just flat-out not interested in running this kind of business no matter how well it pays, avoid the product. It’s not intended for you. But if you’re worried about how to get clients or don’t know how to get sites ranked after you sell someone your SEO services, don’t worry. Stephen covers that information thoroughly, and the bonus I provide my referrals is very helpful for overcoming this as well.
3) You’re Not Willing to Work Extremely Hard: You can make a lot of money running a local SEO business, but it’s going to take a lot of hard work. You’ll have to spend several hours studying the training, then you’ll have to spend more time implementing that training to get clients and rank their websites. This isn’t some “push-button” system – only members that work hard will see results.
4) You Simply Don’t Have the Money: I fully recognize and appreciate the fact that BP SEO is pretty pricey at $497, and not everyone will be able to afford it (no matter how legitimate it is). You’ll also need to spend at least another $100-$200 getting setup with hosting and tools if you don’t already have them.
All-in-all, you’ll need approximately $600-$700 to get your local SEO business off the ground. Take it from me, a guy that VERY rarely gives a product his stamp of approval – if you have the money and are interested in starting a local SEO business, I’m 100% confident there’s no better product you could buy to start making money online.

As I stated earlier, after 10 years following SEO and reviewing 100+ products, it’s rare that I learn much from the products I buy these days. If I’m lucky, I’ll pick up 1-2 golden nuggets here and there, even with some of my highest rated products. After years and years as an internet marketer, you tend to understand most of what works and what doesn’t.
When I logged in to review Bulletproof SEO, I was genuinely surprised at how much information there was. I started watching a few lessons, thinking that most of it would be information that I’ve known for months or years. I was wrong. In fact, I spent several hours taking notes and learning from Stephen Floyd’s video lessons, and planning how to apply his lessons to my current business.
I think that speaks volumes to how much quality is delivered after you pay. There’s no doubt in my mind that I could use this training to grow a stream of income for my business worth several thousand dollars a month within a year.
Apart from the confusing navigation and a lack of aesthetic appeal, there’s not really anything that Stephen has done wrong. I’ll highlight a few of my favorite high points as I was going through the product:

Hours Upon Hours of Up-to-Date Lessons: Don’t be surprised if there’s a point or two that you feel overwhelmed as you go through all the information you’ve paid for. It’s easy to follow, but there’s A LOT of information here.

The lessons are concise, highly informative, and there are A LOT of them (with more to come – Stephen is adding more video lessons each week).

From Basic to Highly Advanced: Bulletproof SEO’s starting point is basic, on-page SEO. Even if you’re only vaguely familiar with the concept of SEO, that should be enough to pick up where the lessons start.
From there, the lessons gradually go VERY deep. Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about how to get your local clients ranked, what prevents them from ranking, what’s required of high competition vs. low competition industries, etc… Stephen doesn’t leave any stone unturned. If you know how to setup basic websites and hosting, Bulletproof SEO pretty much carries you from there.

From Finding Clients to Setting Prices and Getting Ranked: I think most peoples’ #1 hesitation when they hear “starting a local SEO business” will be how to get clients. Don’t worry, Stephen isn’t going to make you cold-call prospects, hard-sell anyone, or knock door-to-door.
You’ll learn subtle, effective sales strategies that you can try to see what suits you best. Stephen also goes into great detail on how to figure out how much you should charge, where you can find clients, and of course, everything you have to do from Square One in order to rank anyone you sell your services to.
Detailed, Step-By-Step Instructions: One of the most common flaws I see product publishers make is going over the “broad strokes” but leaving so many gaps that a customer can understand the “big picture”, but not really know what steps they have to take to start making money.

This isn’t a problem in Bulletproof SEO. Although the diagrams that he draws out can leave you wondering “WTF?” if you were to see them outside of the video lessons, watching the videos makes it very clear what you need to do step-by-step in order to build a successful local SEO business.

Highlights TONS of Resources (Free and Premium): This may not sound like that big of a deal as you read it, but once you begin going through the lessons it will be abundantly clear – you can save a lot of time and headaches using the free and premium tools that Stephen refers you to.
None of them are outrageously priced, needless upsells just to earn Stephen an affiliate commission. These are helpful tools that you’ll be thankful for, and that might take months or years to find yourself if you were going at it without Stephen’s training.
Regular Webinars, Great Support, and More: Stephen is constantly updating the members’ area with new lessons and recorded webinars, which you can also attend live if you’re interested.
Stephen comments when needed
There’s also an extremely active, very helpful Facebook group that Stephen is constantly posting updates in or commenting on to help members that have questions. You’ll occasionally see encouraging updates from members about how they signed a $1500/month client thanks to the training, or how they got a business in their area ranked because of what Bulletproof SEO taught them.
The list goes on and on. I could keep rambling, but the moral of the story is that this product is extremely well thought-out and executed. Stephen covers broad strokes as well as tiny details. No stone is left unturned, and from basic SEO to advanced, from finding clients to selling them, pricing them, and delivering on your sales promises – Stephen covers it all.
And to top it all off, if you ever have a question or encounter something with a client that’s NOT covered, the Facebook group full of hundreds of others building a local SEO business will be there to help (and Stephen will likely chime in as well).

If you’re willing to put in the effort, carefully follow Stephen’s instructions, and you’re interested in making money by starting a local SEO business, I can’t recommend this product highly enough (which is a very rare statement coming from me).
It’s pricey, but in my 100% honest and professional opinion, it’s more worth it than any other product I’ve seen. If you work hard and follow Stephen’s instructions carefully, I can’t see someone not at least recovering their initial investment, if not building a local SEO business that makes several thousand dollars a month.
So is it worth it? Absolutely. I wish every product publisher delivered on their promises as well as Stephen Floyd does in Bulletproof SEO. If you’re willing to work hard, you could have your first couple of clients within 1-2 months after signing up, which is just unheard of in all of the other products I’ve reviewed.
Long story short: If you’re willing to work, you’re interested in starting a local SEO business as a vehicle to make money online, and you can afford it, there’s no product I would recommend more highly.
